Creating An In-App Monetization Plan

I gave a talk at Hacker Dojo last week about monetizing mobile apps through in-app purchases. IAP is a great model to generate revenue, but few app developers use it effectively.

For example, one of my pet peeves is about why almost all in-app purchases are priced at $0.99. Why? Because everyone else prices at that point, so it must be what works best. But $0.99 is probably a legacy from iTunes music pricing and is resulting in a lot of money being left on the table today. There is a lot of similar low hanging fruit that can grow the mobile app economy to many times larger its current size.
